I need to update the web site as I've sold some paintings and even painted some new ones.
Well, I'm now esconced at the Coast Harbourside as part of Artishow Victoria 2015. I'm painting in the lobby of the hotel from 10 am to 4 pm Wednesday to Friday throughout the month of July. I may well be there at other times a swell I meant to say" as well" but I like the typo!). I have works in progress lying around plus completed pictures ready for sale throughout the lobby and the Blue Crab bar and grill.
Come for the paintings, stay for a drink and a meal; or vice versa!
The spring FCA show at Coast Collective is over. It was only on for a short time but a number of paintings sold, including my 'Fisgard Stroll'.
I've include a pic of it, though it may apparer distorted.
I've just mounted a solo show at Ministry of Health lobby in Victoria (see Events). Show includes some new works as well as retrospective ones (i.e.e unsold). I'll post some samples as soon as I can figure out how to do it!
I managed to get my Fisgard Stroll juried in to this show (see events for details). I had trouble getting my intended pics finished and dry in time. Must work on that!
Its busying up: although Coastal Encore (Coast Harbourside until April 30) is drawing to a close, I`ve got the Victoria FCA Spring Show underway, a one-man show at the Ministry of Health Richard Blanshard building in May, and an invitation to participate in Artishow 2015 at the Coast Harbourside Hotel in July. I`m skipping The TD Victoria Art Gallery Moss Street Paint-in this year, as I have a family commitment that clashes.
Plus I`m building a `fort`in the back yard for Grandson, Jacob.
It can be tough resuming painting after the Christams shopping, eating and entertaining hiatus. But Ive got a few on the go, some even dry and up at the Coast Harbourside. Now all I have to do is get some photos taken and posted....
I'm happy to report that the two pictures I submitted were juried in. Hooray. I think it may have been because there were some huge paintings submitted while mine were modest 20x16s and better suited to the limited wall space available.
Anyway, looks likea good show.
NB. Artists reception on Sunday Nov 2 from1:30 to 2:30 is a good chance to drop by and see the paintings AND chat to artists attending, plus get some free food goodies.
Oh yes, pics of the paintings...managed to forget that again, so you'll have to go to Goward Houseto see them...
This show is on from today through Sunday at Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney British Columbia. Its a great show and even feature two of my paintings of Chinatown in Victoria.
Summer painting, especially at Coast Harbourside, has paid off as I've got much new material for various shows. See Events for current and soon upcoming ones.
This is on from Aug 29 to Sep 24th (see Events). I submitted one portrait sketch and two landscapes.
